The Cottage at Nature's Edge

An atmospheric stay with a few points of criticism. Cabin fell short of its potential. Positive: Apart from a toaster, we didn’t miss anything in terms of amenities. The cabin was smaller than expected but still spacious enough and very cozy. Unfortunately, the hot tub kept turning on several times during the night and was quite loud (around 50 dB), which made it hard to sleep at first. However, the host was very responsive and quickly took care of the issue. What we loved most was the atmosphere – a secluded cabin surrounded by an autumn forest. A truly atmospheric and memorable stay! Negative: The cabin looked clean at first glance, but it seemed as if it had only been cleaned superficially before our stay. I didn’t go looking for dirt, but when I happened to look in certain spots, I found quite a bit of dust – for example, on the air vent, the bed frame near the headboard, the ceiling beams, and the bathroom light well. Who knows what else I might have found if I had been checking more closely. There was also a carafe with a water filter, which we initially appreciated, but upon closer inspection, it was clear the filter hadn’t been cleaned or replaced in quite some time. The cabin was also quite dark – which is to be expected for a wooden cabin in the middle of the forest, of course – but an extra string of lights would really add to the atmosphere and provide a bit more brightness when needed. The mattresses were extremely soft – probably a matter of personal preference, but unfortunately not comfortable for us.

Beautiful little cabin!very secluded with beautiful scenery! Owners were very helpful with all questions, prior to arrival and after. The bed was extremely comfortable and the deck was lovely to relax on after a day of site seeing!

Peaceful woodland retreat Positive: Beautiful setting and nicely furnished. Great communication and information app. Negative: Our stay was a little short due to travel changes sadly. Lighting in kitchen wasn’t working and a dust pan and brush would be useful - 2 minor points. I do think that the decking area needed cleaning/a little maintenance but otherwise a lot of care taken to make the lodge a unique experience in the forest

Great little cabin in the woods in a secluded area. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and cozy main room. Hot tub and fire pit supplied with wood are great additional amenities to enjoy. Would recommend for a nice escape to relax in the country. Communication with the property manager was easy and responded relatively fast.

Fantastic cabin Positive: The location of the cabin was perfect for us. Secluded and quiet. The cabin itself was fabulous. Loved everything about it. Michael was in touch with us, making sure we were satisfied with everything. He was awesome!!
